According to one news source, about 40% of the suspected 50,000 grow-ops in Canada are in BC. The increasing media coverage of fires, shootings and police raids associated with marijuana grow operations illustrate the threat that this illegal activity can pose to the well being of citizens and neighbourhoods in BC.
Many first time buyers or homeowners that are barely able to afford upgrading to a bigger home may be willing to take on and renovate a grow-op home.
